But Dale Stanwycz learned about this, and on May 17, 2002, he paid Blade a visit
in his very home in California! With a shocked global TV audience watching in disbelief,
Dale broke into the luxurious, 2-floor mansion, smashed a marble table
on Blade's skull and even Doppleganged him on a coffee table in his large living
room! Leaving a bloody mess behind him, "The Mirror" grabbed the UWAC belt
and drove it back to Minnesota in his old truck for two straight days! Since no
UWAC regulations were in effect, and the Universal Belt was considered "unsanctioned"
in the PCWA/OWC, its officials unacknowledged any of these events. However,
a lawsuit soon followed from Blade himself... Dale won, defended by his own
brother Rob Stanwycz who got the jury's favor after declaring his brother as "mentally unstable"! The
only wild card in this subject was Devastator who, being the last "real" UWAC titleholder,
HAD the right to reclaim the mythical belt... but he never did. |
But Lady Fortune would smile to "The Mirror" once more. After winning the UWAC Universal
Title, Devastator took a heel turn and left CIWA to join the PCWA/OWC,
where he "defended" the Belt despite the fact the UWAC didn't exist anymore. A
guy known as Alex Blade "took" the Title from Dev, and created himself a new moniker: Alex "The Jagged Mirror"
Blade! He infuriated audiences everywhere by defaming Dale "The Mirror" and
spoofing him in all sort of ways: using his entrance attire, music, and mannerisms.
He became the anti-Dale Stanwycz, shamelessly blemishing an umprecedented
legacy left behind. |
After learning about what happened, Joe Clapp made some phone calls and, in mid-November,
2002, contacted Stanwycz in his home in Grand Rapids, then passed on the
news to J.P. Dcosse and John Bergin, who had just reformed the DCWL after years
of obscurity. They offered Dale a chance to return to active competition,
which he accepted after some reluctance. Back in full shape and weighing in a solid
248 lbs., Dale "The Mirror" Stanwycz resurfaced on January 10, 2003, at DCWL's
TOTAL DEMENTIA. Now facing a roster with a lot of new faces and some old ones, Dale "The Mirror"
is ready to continue his job... to make his rivals come and TAKE A GOOD LOOK!TM |
